Track lighting is a system of light fixtures referred to as ‘heads’ connected to a monorail track. It contains electrical wires that power each head individually. They are perfect for an area that requires a more focused beam of light.
- In general, track heads on a linear monorail need to be left around 12”-24” apart.
- For more specific uses, place track heads closer together, but keep them at least 5” apart.
- Keep the fixtures at a 30-degree angle to optimize distance and to minimize glares and shadows.
- If you are illuminating an object that may produce direct glare (such as glass frames), place the track no more than three feet from the wall.
Tip: Adjust the head angles to get a more specific beam in different directions throughout the area.
