Not only do bedside table lamps add style and charm to a room, but they are also very functional and frequently used. Here are some tips on how to choose the perfect bedside table lamp.
- Start with making sure that the bedside table is at least as high as the top of the mattress, preferably taller. Typical height from the floor to the top of the lamp is 58”-64“.
- Choose lamps with shades that are no wider than the shortest side of the table on which it sits.
- The shade’s diameter should be no more than 2” less than the length of the base.
- The shade height should be between 1/2 and 3/4 the height of the base, and the bulb and socket should not be visible.
Tip: The bottom of the shade should be equal height to a person’s chin as they are sitting in the bed.
