Design Partner Feature: Skowron Interior Design

This month we had the pleasure of interviewing Ashley Skowron, founder of Skowron Interior Design.

Not only did she tell us about her experience as an interior designer, but she also took us "behind the scenes" of a few of her recent projects.

Tell us a little bit about your company.
Skowron Interior Design is a full-service interior design firm located in Northwest Ohio. We specialize in new construction, renovations and additions. No project is too big or too small!

What are you most passionate about when it comes to interior design?
I know that making design selections can be an overwhelming task for many, so I’m passionate about taking the stress out of each project while helping turn my clients’ dream homes into realities.

What's your favorite kind of project to work on?
I enjoy all types of design work… but I especially love designing private residences that enhance classical designs and traditional principles while meeting the needs of modern life.

Do you have a certain goal you try to achieve with every assignment you take on?
Yes! I strive to create homes my clients will love and cherish… Homes with lasting beauty where lasting memories can be made!

Can you walk us through some of your recent work?
Absolutely. Below are photos of a kitchen, living room and bathroom I designed. I've also included some background information for each space.

Kitchen

I placed the Darlana Linear Lantern in the breakfast nook because it worked well proportionally for that particular space, and the polished nickel finish matched the Square Hanging Tube Shades above the island.

I loved the way the island's pendants brought in some softness with the shades while still maintaining the clean lines.

And, both fixtures worked perfectly with the cremone bolts on the upper cabinets!

Living Room

This particular client wanted to highlight their children's wedding pictures that were placed in the living room.

Once I chose the art lights for the portraits, I needed a chandelier that would match their warm, gold finish and pair nicely with the shiplap walls.

And the Hackney Chandelier did just that!

The soft, round shape of the chandelier and the touch of fabric on the shades were perfect for this room full of warm finishes and hard materials.

I'm happy to say that it's my client's favorite room in the house for their family to gather!

Bathroom

When my client and I discovered these stunning Hadley Pendants, we just HAD to get them for her grandkids' bathroom.

Why?

Because the theme for their bedroom and bathroom is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"...

And, if you look closely at the pendants, you'll see that the bottom is lined with little stars!

They were truly the perfect fit.
